Martin Leissler is currently professor at the media faculty of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, with major topics of gaming and mobile applications . He is also senior researcher at the Distance University in Hagen in the area of ubiquitous mobile computing. Formerly head of software and product development at GLOBIT GmbH - which he is still consulting - overlooking development in the areas of web based medical education portals and mobile applications for scientific societies and congresses. As founder and CEO of a company specialized in development of applications and games for mobile devices, ranging from cellphones to tablet computers, he has gained invaluable experience in the mobile app industry. Prior to founding his own company, Martin has worked on managing projects at the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, IPSI in Darmstadt. Both, in research as well as in applications-related industrial projects he has accumulated a great deal of technology and management experience in areas such as Web applications, multimedia systems, e-commerce, embedded systems, social network applications, information visualization, computer gaming, and data driven applications. Martin graduated in computer science (Dipl.-Inf.) and holds a doctorate degree in computer science (Dr.-Ing.) from the Darmstadt University of Technology.
